Sony release new PlayStation 3 security update

Sony target PS3 jailbreakers with latest patch

Minor security patch released for PS3

Amidst fears of hackers taking advantage of certain vulnerabilities with the PlayStation 3’s security, Sony has responded with the release of a new security update.

Version 3.56 of the company's firmware updates will be released soon with Eric Lempel, VP of Network Operations for Sony Computer Entertainment America announcing via the official it being “a minor update that adds a security patch”

There are no new features added alongside the update and just the one security update. As a result of this latest security update, speculation is mounting as to whether Sony is considering implementing a serial key security system to PS3 game sales much like releases of PC titles.
