LA Noire matches success of Red Dead Redemption

Rockstar’s LA Noire gaming release has gone straight in at number in the official UK game chart, following strong sales during its opening weekend.

The cinematic 1940s detective thriller game has matched the sales of Rockstar’s last blockbuster, Red Dead Redemption in its first few days on sale catapulting it to the top of the gaming charts.

Last week’s number one, Bethesda’s Brink, slipped to number three, while Lego Pirates of the Caribbean continued to sell strongly and hold number two in the all format charts.

At number four, Zumba Fitness is also still performing nicely, followed by another new entry in the top ten, Namco Bandai’s The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

Crysis 2 leapt back up to number six, and Portal 2 slid to number seven, followed by FIFA 11. Mortal Kombat and CoD: Black Ops completed the top ten, placed 9th and 10th respectively.
