HTC HD7 UK launch set for September 15th HTC event

Windows Phone 7 handset to launch alongside Desire HD

Tablet and Desire HD to join Windows Phone 7 HD3

Following the revelation earlier this week that the suspected HTC HD3 has been re-dubbed the HD7, a name fitting with its Microsoft Windows Phone 7 mobile operation system, news has arrived that the new handset will be officially unveiled during HTC’s London-based event next week.

Whilst the HTC launch event due to take place next Wednesday, September 15th has long been known about, the exact products the Taiwanese manufacturer plans to unveil there have been shrouded in mystery and speculation.

Many expect HTC to announce its follow up to the phenomenally successful HTC Desire handset, an Android 2.2 running HTC Desire HD next week, along with a Android powered tablet device that would attempt to tackle the Apple iPad and recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy Tab in the tablet market.

Despite these tantalising announcements, taking much of the pre-event spotlight is the Windows powered HTC HD7, the manufacturer’s first device to run the new and highly impressive Microsoft mobile operating system.

Confirmed specs for the HD7 are a mere dream, industry speculation and claimed leaks however put the HD3 boasting a 4.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 1200 x 800p resolution alongside a staggering 1.5GHz processor and 1GB or RAM. The soon to be announced HD3 is also believed to host a HDMI port, 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and HD video recording capabilities around 32GB of in-built storage expandable by a further 32GB via microSD card.
