There are currently thousands of apps vying for your attention in the numerous app stores - and the numbers are growing at an exponential rate. The majority are free, but there are apps out there which aren't afraid to take a hefty chuck from your wallet.
Looking to spend more money than a small developing nation on software? We at T3 have searched for the some of the most costly apps so you don't have to. Their uses range from remote security camera viewing, to... well absolutely nothing. But hey, you get what you pay for, right?
BarMax CA and BarMax NY
When the Apple tablet first surfaced, there was always scope for those larger 9.7-inch surroundings to help see the end to a big bag of textbooks. The BarMax app for iPad is designed for law students preparing for that all important bar exam featuring 2 months of lectures including flashcards which is all given the Harvard law seal of approval.

This one is for all those budding Tiger Woods' out there who aren't lucky (or talented) enough to earn their own caddy. Thankfully, the Golfshot is the next best thing, providing you with accurate stats so you can knock some strokes off your game. It has 22,000 courses ready to view, allows you to guage distances, helps with club selection and can even keep score. Best of all you can hurl abuse at it and it will still do your bidding... Like a real caddy, except marginally cheaper. It may just give you the edge over your rivals, but don't expect an invitation to the PGA overnight.

Interpath
The pathologist's new best friend - Interpath allows those disease detectors to view high-res images in the palm of their hand so that they can diagnose patients remotely. The multi-touch interface allows easy navigation and detailed magnification, allowing for an accurate diagnosis. Just think, next time you see someone staring deeply into their iPhone screen, they could well be a looking at your prostate gland. Lovely stuff.

Lexi-COMPLETE
An app for all you budding medics out there. Lexi-COMPLETE is your one stop shop for diagnosis info, disease management, medicines and all the other things that a competent doctor should probably already know. If you see your GP or any other doctor sneaking a glance at this during your appointment, it may be time to go private.

Luminair
You know when you're at a show and the lights magically change to enhance the action on stage? Well it's not magic (no really), that's the hard work of theatre technicians. This ingenious little app allows said technicians to control lighting fixtures through their iPhone, and basically gives them a license to show-off. Needless to say, if they get too cocky or drop the phone there could be a few surprises in store for the performers and audience.

MATG Dynamics GP
MATG stands for My Accounts To Go and is an admirably expensive app aimed at very serious business types. Wirelessly sync yourself up to your company's database and get all that all important warehouse information, sales orders, account statements and all the other apparently useful one might need in the business world. Just make sure that your IT department will support it before you splash out, otherwise it might be a very costly white elephant.
