Revealed: Google's plans to make Pixel 11 Pro Fold stand out – as Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Ultra loom large
Apple and Samsung aren't the only ones with a new folding phone, but is Google going green with envy?
Quick Summary
The forthcoming Pixel 11 Pro Fold has leaked, showing off a green colour with reduced camera bump.
It has also been listed at the FCC, revealing that the model might have changed to a MediaTek unit instead of Exynos.
Google is planning to update its folding phone with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, as the company faces renewed competition from Samsung and Apple. With a Made by Google launch event scheduled for 12 August, the new folding phone has made an unsurprising appearance, spilling the details.
I say unsurprising, because one of the leaks for the new folding Pixel comes from it being registered at the FCC. That's a mandatory process devices have to go through before they are sold in the US, with Android Authority spotting the listing.
We're expecting to see the Tensor G6 powering the new phone and one of the details that's revealed in the listing is that there's a new modem in tow, one from MediaTek. That supports an earlier rumour about the switch from previous hardware that used an Exynos modem.
But while listings are useful, nothing is quite as exciting as actual leaks for the device. And this time we see the Pixel 11 Pro Fold in Pine, a nice green colour, which also shows off the slimmer camera array, thanks to Mystic Leaks on Telegram.
That green colour is also expected for the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, and I'm all for it.
It's thought that the Pixel 11 Pro Fold will be available with up to a 1TB capacity, with prices seeing around a €100 price bump compared to the Pixel 10 models.
What to expect from the Pixel 11 Pro Fold
The Tensor G6 is expected to sit on a 2nm process with a new Titan security chip. It should bring a big boost to performance and sit at the heart of the new Pro models.

While power is expected to increase, we're also expecting to see a reduction in the bulk of the phone, with a reported 4.8mm thickness unfolded. But the weight is still reported to be quite high at 257g, which is significantly more than Samsung's 215g Galaxy Z Fold 7.
There's said to be a 4,658mAh battery, which isn't a patch on the 6,000mAh battery of the Razr Fold, likely because Google doesn't seem to want to adopt silicon-carbon technology.
As for the displays, we're expecting a 2343 x 1080 pixel outer display and 2160 x 2076 pixel folding display, which is pretty similar to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The bezels might be reduced a little and are likely to get a brightness bump.
It seems Google is resisting the urge to go wide like its peers with this generation.
Elsewhere, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is expected to continue with cameras from the previous model – while the layout changes slightly, the hardware is expected to be the same.
The new Pixel 11 Pro Fold is expected to be announced on 12 August.
