It’s fair to say that phone photography has progressed substantially in recent years. What was once something of an afterthought is now the main way that most people capture the important moments in their lives.

And when it comes to phone camera technology, one of the best on the market is Huawei XMAGE. The system was built from the ground up to offer an industry leading camera system.

The team at Huawei have designed everything from the mechanics of the optical system to the software behind it. That allows them to ensure top-tier image quality from the camera system.

After that, the team turned their attention to the colour performance. A combination of hardware and software was fused to create XD Fusion, a colour accuracy system which offers full colour gamut calibration. That debuted on the Huawei P40 Series, and helps to ensure vibrant, accurate colours across all shots.

Users get even more options with the XMAGE system, too. Three distinct colour profiles offer the ability to tailor the camera to each individual shot, for the best possible results. The Original setting accurately reproduces colours and textures. The Vivid setting boosts the saturation for vibrant colours, and the Bright setting allows for distinct layering within images.

Each profile has its own distinct personality, while still staying true to the XMAGE profile. It’s a great way to express creativity within your photography, with the right filter for each shot. That’s where the XD Fusion technology comes into its own again. By offering authentic colours, even in complex lighting scenarios, users have access to the best colour performance of any handset currently on the market.

If you want to get in on the action, there are lots of models which include the functionality. All models in the Huawei P60 Series, the HUAWEI Mate 50 Series, and the HUAWEI Mate X3 have the XMAGE technology built in. That means there should be something for everyone.

Huawei has now proudly announced HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2023 winners, selected from more than a whopping 600,000 entries. Some of these winners are featured in this article – and it is safe to say they are STUNNING. The XMAGE Awards has come a long way since its launch in 2017, inspiring countless individuals to pick up their phones and take magnificent photos that give people a glimpse into their world, and unleashing "the power of image" through mobile photography.
