T3 Verdict

The Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong is a great option for those with long hair who want an affordable curling tool that still delivers impressive results. It curls hair easily from root to tip and feels far more premium than its price suggests, thanks to a handful of thoughtful extras. The wide temperature range and universal voltage make it particularly travel-friendly, despite its long auto shut-off and the Progloss oil infusion feeling more like a reassuring bonus than a standout feature. Overall, it’s a well-designed, reliable hair tool that’s easy to recommend.

Why you can trust T3 Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Revamp is a brand that’s become really well known for offering affordable yet premium hair tools, and in a world where some stylers now creep well past the £400 mark, it’s always refreshing to find one that delivers great results without costing the earth.

The Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong instantly caught my eye thanks to its extra-long barrel, which offers around 25% more length than standard tongs. As someone with long hair, curling tools are usually the ones I struggle with the most, which is why I so often default to to the best straighteners. So, you can tell I was very excited to give this one a proper try.

Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong review: price and availability

The Revamp Effortless Curls Tong has an RRP of £44.99 on the brand’s website, but it’s often available for less on retailers like Amazon and Freemans.

At this price point – especially when discounted – it’s impressive just how well this tong performs.

Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong review: design and features

As the name suggests, the Effortless Curls Extra-Long Tong is clearly designed with longer hair in mind. It features a 32mm ceramic barrel that measures around 19cm, compared to the usual 15cm you’ll find on most curling tongs. That extra length makes a real difference, allowing you to reach the roots and ends in one go and wrap hair without awkward overlapping.

Like many of Revamp’s stylers, the ceramic barrel is infused with Progloss Super Smooth Oils, including keratin, argan and coconut oil, which are designed to condition the hair as you style, boosting shine and helping reduce frizz. You might not notice these benefits instantly, but it’s reassuring to know they’re working in the background.

The tong heats up quickly and offers a wide temperature range from 120°C to 210°C, with intelligent heat control that keeps the temperature consistent and kinder to your hair. There’s also a twist control on the handle, which helps avoid accidentally changing the settings half way through styling.

Revamp has also nailed the practical details, especially when it comes to the heat-resistant glove, three-metre swivel cable and a built-in stand – all of which come included.

It does include an auto shut-off after 60 minutes, which is probably my only real issue. I’d personally prefer something closer to 15 or 20 minutes, but I’m still glad it’s there, and of course is better than having no safety cut-off at all.

One of my favourite features is the worldwide voltage. As someone who travels a lot for work, region-locked hair tools are one of my biggest annoyances, so it’s great to see Revamp getting this right.

Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong review: performance

The Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong is easily one of my favourite ceramic curling tools I’ve tested, even though I might be slightly biased as someone with long hair. It’s really refreshing to find a curling tong that can curl hair from the root all the way to the ends, rather than just catching the tips. The barrel width works brilliantly too, creating an effortless beachy wave rather than anything too tight or overly styled.

One thing I really noticed whilst using it is just how premium it feels, especially for the price. It’s comfortable to hold and thoughtfully designed, and the included extras make a big difference. For example, the extra-long cable, along with the included stand and heat glove, help it feel far more expensive than it actually is.

I also loved the wide range of temperature options, which is surprisingly rare on a tool this affordable. In fact, I took the Revamp Effortless Curls tong away with me recently and realised I’d forgotten my heat protectant spray – so being able to use the lower temperatures was a real lifesaver.

Speaking of travel, the universal voltage is another huge advantage. Unlike tools like the Dyson Airwrap or Shark FlexStyle, which are often limited to the voltage of the country you bought them in, this tong can be used abroad without any issues. I find this really impressive, especially when you consider how dominant those pricier tools are in the industry.

As with other Revamp products, the ceramic barrel is infused with Progloss Super Smooth Oil. I’ll be honest – it’s not something you actively notice whilst styling. Your hair doesn’t suddenly look like it’s stepped out of a shampoo advert, and you can’t smell the oils at work.

That said, Revamp wouldn’t make it a key selling point if it didn’t do something, and it’s reassuring to know it’s there. Just don’t buy these tongs expecting an instantly visible difference, as you’ll likely be disappointed if that’s your main reason.

Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong review: verdict

The Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong is an excellent choice if you’ve got long hair and want an affordable curling tool that provides great results. It curls from root to tip with ease, and feels far more premium than its price suggests thanks to thoughtful extras. The wide temperature range and universal voltage make it especially practical for travel, despite the long auto shut-off and Progloss oil infusion being a reassuring bonus rather than a headline feature. All in all, it’s a really well-designed tong that’s easy to recommend.

Revamp Effortless Curls Extra-Long Ceramic Tong review: alternatives to consider

If you’re after a tool that offers a bit more styling versatility but want to avoid the bulk of air multi-stylers, the Cloud Nine 2-in-1 Contouring Iron Pro is worth a look. It’s definitely more premium than the Revamp tong, but its curved ceramic plates let you straighten, curl and wave with a single tool, making it a great alternative depending on your styling needs.
