Despite earlier reports that a Microsoft Windows Phone 7 UK launch was being tipped for October 21st, T3 has just received an invite for a Microsoft event to be held on October 11th.

Earlier this month speculation from 'multiple sources' had picked out October 11th as the date for the introduction of Microsoft's much-anticipated Windows Phone 7 mobile platform.

LG, Asus, Samsung, Dell and HTC have all signed up to the Windows Phone 7 cause, as Microsoft attempts to rival Apple and Google's stellar mobile OS offerings. Microsoft has also confirmed that all UK networks will carry Windows Phone 7 devices.

Among the most notable features, Windows Phone 7 will introduce hubs for your different web content needs, multitouch support and Xbox Live integration.

The press conference is set to take place at a ‘central London location', and we are expecting more details to be revealed about the event in the near future, so keep your eyes posted on T3.com.
