This is the tablet I use every morning for World Cup highlights – its screen is ridiculous

The Honor MagicPad4 is so pretty

I've got a routine at the moment, and it's quite a nice one; every morning, the moment I wake up, instead of reaching for my phone to see what's going on in the world, I instead grab my Honor MagicPad 4.

I head straight to YouTube, to the ITV Sport channel, to watch the highlights from the World Cup games I missed overnight due to their often impossible kick-off times. Each set of highlights is around eight minutes long, and I get through them all before opening any news or messaging apps, to avoid accidentally having scorelines spoiled.

Best of all, I get to watch those highlights on one of the best displays I've ever used, a gorgeous OLED panel at 3K resolution – this tablet is a genuine stunner, as befits the five-star rating we've given it. Here's the really good news, too: it's got an Amazon Prime Day deal right now, knocking £99 off.

This is the most affordable version of the MagicPad 4, and now it's a good chunk better from a pricing point of view – a beautiful slab of tablet that is almost impossibly thin and light. It's unbelievably impressive, and this Prime Day price cut makes it incredibly tempting.

I've had the tablet now for a few months, and it's been a really useful addition to my array of devices. I've already used it very successfully for travel, for instance, and used it to far outstrip the quality of the in-seat display you get on long-haul flights.

Now, though, it's becoming even more baked into my routine, and the need to watch highlights every morning is as good a reason as any. With a 12.3-inch OLED display, this table legitimately looks as good as anything else in the Android market, and its slimness means that even iPads don't necessarily look like clear upgrades.

It's also really powerful and has a bevvy of interesting Honor software features, from a PC mode that makes it more like a laptop to use, to some systems to let you transfer files wirelessly to and from a surprisingly wide range of devices.

So, if you want a stellar Android tablet that will almost certainly shock you when you realise how thin it is, now's your chance to get a tasty £99 off. You've probably got until the end of Prime Day tomorrow (26 June), so don't hang around.
