FlexiSpot C7 Office Chair review: ergonomically supportive office or WFH solution – with one design flaw
The FlexiSpot C7 is a home office essential – despite needing some improvements

For your office or WFH set-up, the FlexiSpot C7 is a comfortable and ergonomically supportive office chair that’s nice to sit in for several hours at a time. It has a good amount of adjustments which changes the height, and supports the arms, lower back, head and neck. Its wheels are a serious design flaw, but this can be forgiven due to how comfortable and stylish it is.

Why you can trust T3

I moved into my house a couple years ago, but it was only until recently that I decided to upgrade to a proper office chair. Despite working from home three days a week, I decided to put myself through the pain and discomfort of using an uncomfortable, armless chair that had me sliding all over the place due to its strange faux leather material.
So, when FlexiSpot reached out about their latest C7 office chair, I jumped at the chance to replace that horrible chair with a professional one. All I was looking for in an office chair was something that looked the part and could comfortably support me through sitting down for eight-nine hours a day.
The FlexiSpot C7 certainly fit the bill in this situation – despite its one serious design flaw – and this is how I got on.
FlexiSpot C7 office chair review: price and availability
The FlexiSpot C7 office chair is priced at £359.99 / $299.99 and available to buy at FlexiSpot. You can choose whether you want a footrest or not – with a footrest is £379.99, and grey or white and grey colourways.
FlexiSpot C7 office chair review: set-up
Aside from building flatpack furniture and decorating my house, I’m not the biggest DIY-er, so I was initially a bit nervous about putting together the FlexiSpot C7. But it was surprisingly easy and I managed to assemble it myself in about 45 minutes – cue round of applause.
The FlexiSpot C7 arrived in pieces, including the wheels, seat, lumbar support, headrest, arms and levers. Screws and tools were included in the package so you don’t need anything extra, and the instructions were well drawn out and explained step by step.

Each part of the FlexiSpot C7 fit together easily, although there were parts that required some muscle – of which I lack. The main part of the FlexiSpot C7 which had the levers and adjustments was very heavy. As that part sits directly under the seat, it did require me to lift up the entire chair – seat, back, arms and levers – to attach it to the five-pointed base. I managed to do it myself but it was insanely heavy and probably more of a two-person job.

I also found the wheel casters to be quite strange and difficult to attach to the main base. Rather than screwing in, the FlexiSpot C7’s wheels ‘click’ in and can be locked or unlocked, although it never became clear to me how to do that. The wheels were hard to attach to the base, and continued to fall out even after the rest of the chair had assembled – I’ll go into this more below.
FlexiSpot C7 office chair review: design and features
The FlexiSpot C7 is described as a ‘Multi-adjustable Ergonomic Chair with Split Lumbar Support’. Weighing around 136kg, the FlexiSpot C7 is made from foam and mesh, and has a maximum 75cm width and 7cm depth. The height is adjustable but it’s recommended to have it between 170-195cm.
Designed for different postures and heights, the FlexiSpot C7 has many adjustments available including the height of the chair, back support, armrests and seat tilt. Most of the adjustments can be made via the levers under the chair, by pushing parts down like the lumbar or leaning back like the chair tilt.
The mesh material of the FlexiSpot C7 is comfortable to sit on, while the 3D armrests – that rotate back, forth or completely around – have more of a spongy yet firm construction. The chair feels high quality, and once put together, there were very little wobbles or creaks.
Available in grey or white and grey – the latter of which I tried – the FlexiSpot C7 looks similar to other office chairs, but it has good looks and fits into most office aesthetics.
FlexiSpot C7 office chair review: performance
Once I’d assembled the FlexiSpot C7, I moved it from a room with hardwood floors to my carpeted office. I immediately noticed that the FlexiSpot C7 moved much more smoothly on hardwood, and had a bit of pushback when being wheeled over carpet. But after I’d gotten used to the FlexiSpot C7, it was easy to push, pull and scoot around on a carpeted floor.
I really enjoyed the feel of the FlexiSpot C7. I tested it during some of the UK’s heatwaves and it didn’t feel uncomfortable or sore against bare skin, or leave any unflattering marks. I liked the material for the armrests best, as it was smooth yet firm, so I felt like my arms were nicely supported while I was working.
The seat of the FlexiSpot C7 was probably my favourite. It’s comfortable, supportive and the lumbar support helped ease any back ache I experienced while also improving my posture. After using my horrible office chair for a couple years, I really noticed the difference the FlexiSpot C7 made to my alignment and the way my body felt after sitting in it for hours at a time.

I preferred the manual adjustments, like the headrest which you can move up and down to better support the neck and head. I also liked the tilt of the chair, and its stability. I often find when leaning back in office chairs, you get that scary jolt or creaking noise which worries you that you’re about to fall off of it – that wasn’t the case with the FlexiSpot C7.
The one major issue I had with the FlexiSpot C7 was its wheels. Despite putting it together properly, one or two of the wheels often popped themself out of the base which resulted in the chair tipping over while I was in it and scaring the life out of me. I don’t have a ton of experience with wheel casters, but I can confidently say that they’re not meant to randomly detach from the main chair base, so this should probably be looked at by FlexiSpot.
FlexiSpot C7 office chair review: verdict
After using an uncomfortable, unsupportive office chair for years, the FlexiSpot C7 has been a saving grace. It’s nice to sit in and has plenty of adjustments available to tailor the chair completely to you to better support your body’s posture, alignment and other needs.
The wheels are a major issue for me. No matter how many times I’ve popped them back in, I’m always terrified they’re going to fall out and send me sideways, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take with the FlexiSpot C7, as its lumbar, head and arm support have me looking forward to sitting in it for hours at my desk.
FlexiSpot C7 office chair review: alternatives to consider
The Boulies EP200 has a similar design to the FlexiSpot C7 and a multitude of adjustments to keep you comfy and supported. It’s also more affordable than the FlexiSpot C7 if you’re on a tighter budget.
Another similar looking chair is the SIHOO Ergonomic Office Chair. It looks almost identical to the FlexiSpot C7, with its mesh design and colourways, and it has plenty of adjustments, too.
