Known for its top-tier skincare and wellness tech, Therabody is no stranger to riding the latest beauty trends. So when portable skincare tools started gaining traction, it was no surprise the brand rose to the occasion. The TheraFace Depuffing Wand arrived some time later – a smart, travel-friendly device designed to bring quick relief and on-the-go skincare.
It’s perfect for anyone who loves taking care of their skin but doesn’t want to be tied to the bathroom mirror. With its sleek, slim design, it fits easily in your bag – and I couldn’t wait to try it.
Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand review: price and availability
The TheraFace Depuffing Wand has an RRP of £129/$169.99 and is available from Therabody’s online store, Selfridges, John Lewis and Boots. It comes in two colour options – white or Indigo.
Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand review: design and features
You can really tell that Therabody has carefully considered the design of the Depuffing Wand. It's slim, portable and lightweight, weighing just over 100g, and features a contoured metal tip that’s shaped to get into tight facial areas.
It’s also really easy to use, with just two buttons (one for heat, one for cold) and a small LED display that shows your selected mode, temperature and treatment progress. The wand itself also glows blue or red, depending on which mode you have it on.
When it comes to temperatures, the cold mode reaches 14 °C, 12 °C and 10 °C in seconds, helping to reduce puffiness, tighten pores and refresh tired under-eyes. The heat mode offers 35 °C, 38 °C and 42 °C to open pores, improve circulation and boost product absorption.
Therabody recommends using Heat–Cold Contrast Therapy, starting with heat to prep your complexion, then switching to cold to tone and tighten. This combo also supports lymphatic drainage and adds a visible boost to tired skin.
The battery is impressive too – I got around 40 minutes of use, which translated to about six uses on a single charge. It took just under two hours to recharge.
The wand is also FDA‑registered, dermatologist‑tested, and made with high-quality, lightweight materials like PC+ABS and aluminium alloy, giving it that signature premium Therabody feel.
Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand review: performance
After a few weeks of testing, I can genuinely say I’ve loved having the TheraFace Depuffing Wand in my beauty routine. There’s definitely a place for a device like this in the skincare tech market, and I’m glad Therabody decided to go for it.
One of the biggest selling points for me is how portable it is. It’s light and compact, and I found it easy to throw in my bag and use on the go. Cryotherapy tools are becoming more and more popular – the Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask is one of my current favourites – but having something this portable and versatile has been a game-changer.
That said, I did wish it came with a storage case or pouch, especially since the white matte finish started picking up marks as time went on.
Results-wise, I’ve been really happy with what I've seen. I found myself reaching for the cold mode in the mornings, especially after a bad night’s sleep. Sometimes I’d use it while sipping my morning coffee for a bit of relief, other times after my skincare routine for an added boost.
In the evenings, I got into a habit of using the Heat–Cold Contrast Therapy after using my LED face mask, and found it to be the perfect way to end my skincare for the day.
Over time, I definitely noticed less puffiness under my eyes. My under-eye makeup also started going on smoother and lasting longer, which is something I hadn’t experienced in a while, so I don’t think it's a coincidence.
As time went on, I did find myself wishing the precision tip was a little slimmer. It was great for outer eye areas, but didn’t quite reach the inner corners as well as I’d like. I would have liked to see Therabody add interchangeable tips, or just make the tip a bit narrower to suit more face shapes and needs.
Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand review: verdict
The Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand is a sleek, travel-friendly skincare device that delivers fast results with its hot and cold treatments. It's lightweight, easy to use, and perfect for on-the-go relief, but a slimmer tip and a storage case would be welcome additions. With around six uses per charge and a premium feel, it’s a brilliant option for anyone looking to level up their skincare routine with portable, effective tech.
Therabody TheraFace Depuffing Wand review: alternatives to consider
If the heat and cold treatments appeal but you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly, I’d really recommend the Geske Skin Firming Wand. I love Geske’s products, and whilst this one doesn’t have a cold mode, its Thermo Deep Warming, SmartSonic Pulsation and Red Light Active Regeneration features are seriously impressive for the price.
Alternatively, if you want to stay in the Therabody family, check out the TheraFace PRO. It’s more of a facial massager-meets-LED skincare tool, but comes with plenty of attachments and routines for glowier, healthier-looking skin.
