Top dash cam models from Nextbase, Garmin and more

Dash cams are one of those things that you’d rather have as a precaution – and indeed it pays to get a good quality piece of kit with the features and resolution you’d most want for a car-capturing camera.
Thankfully, despite Prime Day being in the rear-view mirror, it’s actually a good time to buy some of our favourite dash cams. From budget-minded ones like the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 to our very favourite model, the Nextbase iQ. I’ve rounded up five great dash cam deals from Amazon that you should consider if you want to add a little peace of mind to your driving. We’ve included highly recommended models that we and our sister sites have reviewed.
This is actually the top model on our list of the best dash cams, thanks to its quality design and the amount of features that add up to being a terrific all-rounder. This cloud-based camera comes in either 1K, 2K or 4K resolutions (we’ve linked to the 1K model as it’s currently discounted), and offers a handy app and GPS tracking. We awarded it five stars in our Nextbase iQ review.
For a while, this was actually T3 Australia’s favourite dash cam, and it remains the top model for our friends over on TechRadar, thanks to its exceptional video quality and GPS tracking. It requires a large capacity SD card to function, and the smartphone app leaves a bit to be desired, but it was still deserving of a perfect five-star rating in our Nextbase 622GW review.
A 12% saving might not be the biggest deal in the world, but it’s still an attractive discount on one of the best dash cams. Our friends over at TechRadar chalk Garmin’s Mini 3 up as the best budget dash cam, complete with easy setup and 1080p HDR resolution. It might lack an onboard battery and display, but for a budget-minded shopper, it might be just the right camera. The camera was awarded four and a half stars in TechRadar’s Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 review.
This is another worthwhile dash cam to consider on a budget, particularly seeing as it's now 20% off. The Garmin Dash Cam 57 impresses by being just above the Mini 3 in terms of specs, packing a small display, 2K resolution and GPS tracking. Our friends over at Tom’s Guide rank it highly for its palatable price, and awarded it five stars in their Garmin Dash Cam 57 review. Stock for this model appears to be limited, but wired versions included are also discounted.
One last dash cam to consider on a budget is the Vantrue E1 Pro – a 4K version of TechRadar’s favourite compact recorder with an inconspicuous design and exceptional video quality. Its compact design makes it easy to put up with when mounted to a windscreen. Do note, though, that it doesn’t have pivot adjustments. The non-pro model earned four and a half stars in TechRadar’s Vantrue E1 review. Remember to tick the 'apply AU$80 coupon' box on the Amazon listing to get the discounted price!
