Microsoft will detail plans for its upgrade to Windows Phone later today following an invite that was sent out to VIPs earlier this month. The event is set to be centred around the so-called Mango software boost, which has also been dubbed Windows Phone 7.5.
Microsoft has already given tech fans a glimpse of what we can expect, with better Twitter integration, motion sensing smarts and multitasking all high on the agenda. There’s no news on when the update will be rolled out, or if new handsets will be shown off at the same time.
This is undoubtedly good news for Nokia, as it looks to hurry along its plans for its own Windows Phone devices. And with the invite lacking any mention of Windows Phone 7, you expect the number to be dropped too.
