Sony Xperia Z2 details emerge

Phone expected to be unveiled at CES 2014 with an April launch date

The first details of Sony’s successor to its Xperia Z1 smartphone have emerged.

The Sony Xperia Z2 will come with a 5.2-inch screen and full HD, giving it a pixel density of around 505 ppi. The details were leaked by AndroidSAS.

That compares to the current Xperia Z1’s 5-inch screen and 441 ppi.

Under the hood, the phone will be similar to the Xperia Z1, with a Snapdragon 800 processor and a 20.7 megapixel camera. Unlike its predecessor though, the Z2 is said to come with a Xenon flash.

Previous rumours have suggested that the Xperia Z2 will come with 3GB of RAM. By comparison, the Xperia Z1 has 2GB.

The phone is also said to come with Android KitKat 4.4 – not really surprising seeing as how the phone has a rumoured launch date of April 2014.

According to reports, the phone should get an unveiling at CES 2014 in Las Vegas.
