New HD camcorder with interchangeable lenses a consumer first says Sony.

Sony’s new Handycam, the NEX-VG10E, isn’t the sort of bog-standard shooter you’d use for YouTube clips of your mates falling over after a few lagers. Nope, this is a top notch new peeper, the first consumer HD cammie with interchangeable lenses and a slew of killer features for hardcore home movie types.

Rocking a BIONZ processor and 14.2 megapixel EXMOR sensor, this really is meant for those who want film-grade clips. It takes Sony E-mount lenses and can even rock Sony alpha DSLR optics if you use a dedicated adaptor.

Shots are captured in AVCHD format, with no restriction on how much HD footage you capture. It’s simply down to how much room you have on your SD card or Memory Stick. Sony is also bigging up the sound quality too, with the inclusion of a quad capsule spatial array microphone. That should mean you pick some sharp sound detail as well as killer pics.

There’s no word on price as yet, but you’ve got time to get saving as the Sony NEX-VG10E isn’t due out until the back end of September.
