Solar-powered super phone!

Egads! A mobile phone charged by the power of the sun! We've seen the future - and now we need sunglasses.

T3's recent jaunt to Tokyo netted more than a widened repertoire of weird and wonderful foods, we clapped eyes on some of the most advanced mobile kit known to man - including this ultra-handy solar phone!

Powered solely by the beating rays of our closest star, it means you'll never run out of natter-juice, and puts an end to travel chargers and emergency batteries.

Crafted by the boffins at NTT DoCoMo and shaped like a shrunken Gameboy SP, we clapped eyes on the wonder phone as part of a next-gen mobile tour where it was demonstrated alongside ultra-speedy 4G phones and GPS mobiles.

We're not so sure our dowdy British summers would do justice to this solar-powered star child, but we can't wait until it goes into production so we can give it a whirl!
