Already confirmed for a post MWC 2012 unveiling, new reports have suggested Samsung is to launch its next flagship Android handset this summer with a Samsung Galaxy S3 release rumoured for July.
Having already made a number of claimed premature appearances Samsung announced last month that is was to hold back the Galaxy S 3 release until after next week’s MWC event with South African network providers shedding new light on the device’s eagerly awaited arrival.
Tipping the Galaxy S3 for an early July arrival, the Cell C and MTN networks in South Africa have revealed they will host he as yet unannounced handset whilst Jonathan Newman, a Virgin Mobile spokesperson in the country, as well as confirming the device’s upcoming arrival, said "no pricing is available yet but it is likely to come in where the Samsung Galaxy S2 was priced at launch".
Samsung Galaxy S3 Rumours
Expected to land running Google's newly released Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS the Samsung Galaxy S3 release has been repeatedly rumoured with the next-gen handset tipped to tout a and a 4.65-inch rendition of Samsung's now trademark HD Super AMOLED display with a stunning 1280 x 720p resolution.
Other potential Samsung Galaxy S3 specs that have been doing the rounds ahead of the handsets unveiling include 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a hefty 12-megapixel rear-mounted camera with the now customary 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities.
Remaining somewhat of a mystery a number of reports have given contradictory claims as to what form the Galaxy S3’s engine will take with Murtazin’s latest apparent leak suggesting the handset hosts a 1.5GHz or 1.6GHz quad-core processor, not the 2Ghz dual-core offering previously mooted.
