In the smart home technology sector, Roborock is expanding its product line, moving beyond indoor cleaning to include outdoor solutions. The company's presence at IFA 2025 highlights its entry into the outdoor market with the introduction of its first range of robotic lawnmowers, signalling a broader focus on smart living solutions.
This product launch reflects Roborock’s effort to apply its robotics expertise to new areas. As Roborock’s Head of Marketing EU, Freda Liao, noted, the decision to develop a robotic lawn mower was a logical next step. "We are entering into Robotic Lawnmowers because we see the trends and we see that there’s a lot of grass lands in Europe and the US. We also see the pain points in the current lawn mowing solutions. It’s time-consuming."
This move illustrates how Roborock's foundational technology is being adapted for different environments. The new lineup, consisting of the RockMow Z1, RockMow S1, and RockNeo Q1, aims to deliver intelligent mowing with advanced environmental awareness and obstacle avoidance.
Indoor innovation: expanded product range
The brand's continued focus on indoor innovation is also on display with three new products. The Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Pro, making its global debut, is designed to enhance carpet and hard floor cleaning. Clarbi Lu, a product expert at Roborock, detailed its features, as well as outlining their privacy protections: "Data security and privacy – that’s our first concern! Any information that’s gathered from the machine will be stored locally, and all data is encrypted." These features are intended to provide a more thorough and hygienic cleaning process and ease customer concerns around data security.
The Roborock Saros Z70, launched earlier this year, introduces a new form of robotic functionality. The product expert explained its key feature: "The HyperForce suction power is aimed at removing heavy dirt and fur from carpets. With this super high suction power, as well as our AdaptiLift Chassis, it can adapt to high pile carpet.
“Our home environment is getting more and more complex so it can recognise over 200 types of obstacles." The Saros Z70 also includes AI obstacle recognition and advanced navigation, which contribute to its operational effectiveness.
Lastly, we also got to see the company’s continued expansion of its wet-dry vacuum category with the F25 Ultra, a floor washer that offers high-temperature steam cleaning and 86°C hot water cleaning. This dual functionality is also backed up by 22,000Pa suction power, making it a formidable tool for tackling hardened stains, grease and everyday spillages.
The technology behind these products is consistent across Roborock’s portfolio. According to Freda Liao, “There are a lot of technology foundations between our indoor products – smart vacuums and the lawnmowers. Because we believe that the foundations are the same: sensing, moving and thinking. That is what Roborock is strong at. We’re very confident that we’re able to provide the best products to our consumers."
The outdoors: tackling a unique environment
The new lawnmower range is tailored for different lawn sizes and terrains. The RockMow Z1 is built for demanding lawns, featuring an all-wheel drive system that can handle steep slopes of up to 80% and clear obstacles up to 6 cm. A key differentiator for the Z1 is its Active Steering System, where each front wheel has an independent steering motor to tackle turns and avoid slipping on slopes. Its Dynamic Suspension System also maintains stability on uneven ground.
For navigation, all models use Sentisphere AI Environmental Perception. The Z1 combines Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Visual Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (VSLAM) technologies for pinpoint navigation in shaded zones and narrow passages. The PreciEdge blade on all three models trims within 3 cm of walls, minimising the need for manual edging.
The RockMow Z1 can cover up to 5,000 square metres per 24 hours, while the RockMow S1 is designed for up to 1,000 square metres per 24 hours. The RockNeo Q1 brings advanced technology to everyday maintenance. It includes a Wildlife-Friendly feature that avoids nighttime mowing to protect nocturnal animals. All models, except the RockMow Z1, can handle slopes up to 45% and vertical obstacles up to 4 cm.
By introducing these products, Roborock aims to reinforce its position as a robotics company. The focus is on offering an integrated system of products that manage both indoor and outdoor cleaning tasks. The company’s strategy is to use its robotics expertise to provide practical, automated solutions for a variety of household chores. Roborock became the number one best-selling Robotic Vacuum Cleaner brand in 2024, according to IDC, and currently serves more than 19 million households.
