Beast Mighty 850 Plus review: the best portable blender I’ve ever used
I tried the Beast Mighty 850 Plus and it’s now my go-to smoothie maker

Beast Health might not sound as familiar as Nutribullet or Vitamix in the blender world, but its Beast Mighty 850 Plus is the best portable, personal blender I’ve ever tried. The Beast Mighty 850 Plus comes with three bottles and multiple accessories so you can easily take your smoothie or soup with you on-the-go. Its one-touch controls are easy to use and greatly effective, although you’ll definitely hear it loud and clear when it gets going.

Why you can trust T3

With so many people taking smoothies, soups and sauces with them to the office or on a day trip, the best blenders have become much more portable than before. Brands like Ninja and Nutribullet have already launched their own personal blenders for on-the-go blending and drinking, but I’ve just found a new blender brand that’s blown both of them out of the water.
Originally from the US, Beast Health arrived in the UK this year with three blender models. All three have the same design and power, with the blenders going up in size and power voltage, so you can make small smoothies or vats of sauce.
The Beast Mighty 850 Plus is the middle-man of the collection, and it’s become my go-to blender for my morning smoothie – here’s why.
Beast Mighty 850 Plus review: price and availability
The Beast 850 Plus is priced at £149.99 / $124.99 and is available to buy at Beast Health and select retailers, like Amazon. It’s available in cloud white, mist, sand and carbon black colours.
Beast Mighty 850 Plus review: design and features
The Beast Mighty 850 Plus comes with the ‘Mighty’ which is a 850w blender base, a stainless steel blade and a 638ml vessel. It also comes with 415ml and 768ml blending vessels and cups, alongside storage lids, two straws, a straw cap, a drinking lid and carry cap.
All these accessories means you can use the Beast Mighty 850 Plus to blend in three different sizes, and can drink from the vessels or bottles in two different ways. Versatility was definitely in mind when Beast Health made the Beast Mighty 850 Plus.
Beast Health’s range of blenders are actually designed by the founder of Nutribullet, so the Beast Mighty 850 Plus has quite a similar blending process to Nutribullet’s line-up of blenders. Nutribullet blenders attach to the main base and have a push-down blending motion. The Beast Mighty 850 Plus does the same but uses a one-touch button to blend and pulse.

The 850 watt motor is copper-coiled, which enhances the electricity conduction of the Beast Mighty 850 Plus to give it more power without overheating the base, blades or vessels. The main base is corded, and large but simple, with a one-touch power button at the front.
Users can hold the button down for a couple seconds and the Beast Mighty 850 Plus will blend for 60 seconds or you can press it multiple times so the blades pulse. As the controls are so simple, the Beast Mighty 850 Plus also has a small circular light system atop the button which goes orange when it’s not set up properly and white when it’s ready to go.

Beast Mighty 850 Plus review: performance
I love bringing smoothies into the office with me so I was very excited to try the Beast Mighty 850 Plus. I really enjoyed having the multiple vessel sizes to choose from, as some days I wanted a big smoothie whereas other days, I just wanted to pack a quick yoghurt pot, so all three sizes came in handy at different times.
When making my morning smoothies, I found that the Beast Mighty 850 Plus was very loud when blending both fresh and frozen ingredients. It’s probably the loudest blender I’ve ever used and I was slightly worried I was going to wake my neighbours with it! I also found the base to be much heavier than other blenders I’ve used but the vessels themselves were nice and lightweight, even when full.
I liked the simple controls of the Beast Mighty 850 Plus. As it has just two modes – blend or pulse – I loved that I didn’t have to hover around my blender or push it down to get it to start. I simply pressed the button and carried on getting ready for work while the Beast Mighty 850 Plus made my smoothie in its 60-second window. The button could also be pressed to stop the blending and to pulse which I took advantage of when the Beast Mighty 850 Plus missed a few ingredients.
The blades of the Beast Mighty 850 Plus were very powerful, although they sometimes found it hard to cut through big chunks of frozen bananas. But in general, it did cut through things easily, and made the smoothest liquids I’ve seen a blender make, compared to other brands I’ve tried.
The layout of the Beast Mighty 850 Plus was safe and secure. I never felt like I was going to accidentally unscrew the entire vessel from the base and spill things everywhere – I’ve unfortunately done that before – so you can expect minimal spills and clean-up with the Beast Mighty 850 Plus.
The accessories were definitely my favourite part of the Beast Mighty 850 Plus. I loved being able to make different sized drinks, and take them with me in different ways, either as a bottle, container or sippy cup! The straw lid was a personal favourite, although the straws were very long for the smaller cup so it looked a bit silly at times!

Beast Mighty 850 Plus review: verdict
The Beast Mighty 850 Plus is the best portable, personal blender I’ve ever tried, so it’s quickly become my go-to blender for smoothies, sauces, soups and dips. The accessories are really what make it a standout product as you can make small, medium and large quantities and take them with you with its array of lids and caps.
While it’s extremely loud when it gets going, the Beast Mighty 850 Plus has easy controls, minimal clean-up and makes some of the smoothest smoothies I’ve ever had. It’s not too expensive either, and you get a lot for your money.
Beast Mighty 850 Plus review: alternatives to consider
If it’s a personal or portable blender that you’re looking for, the Ninja Blast is a great alternative to the Beast Mighty 850 Plus. It has a good light system on its one-touch button which explains the different modes, and it’s surprisingly compact and lightweight.
Compared to the Beast Mighty 850 Plus, it’s very easy to accidentally unscrew the Ninja Blast’s base from the vessel which will cause your mix to go over – you have to turn it upside down or take the base with you. But the Ninja Blast is cordless and primarily designed to blend while you’re on the move so you can keep smoothies fresher for longer.
Another alternative is from Beast Health’s ‘sibling’ – the Nutribullet Flip. It’s much more simple than the Beast Mighty 850 Plus and it’s cheaper.
