Amazon has a new pricing strategy and it's making the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro even cheaper

Dropping the price by £10-20 a day is seemingly the new standard

Amazon is pricing its deals very differently this Prime Day. Historically, the brand dropped prices across all key categories at the beginning of the sale, making it easier for people like me to report on the offers, but, admittedly, not thrilling for people expecting new discounts every day of the sale.

This year, the retailer is going down a different avenue. Seemingly, the idea is to drop the price almost imperceptibly every day, so products are cheaper but not too much, making people think they made a bad choice by jumping on an earlier discount.

This happened to the Fenix 8, and now the same pricing strategy is being applied to the newer Fenix 8 Pro, which is around £25 cheaper than it was at the beginning of Prime Day. Again, not a huge amount, considering the overall price of the watch, but substantial enough to make people think they are getting an even better deal.

The Fenix 8 Pro is the closest Garmin currently gets to an "everything watch," and one that should remain capable for years to come. For over £150 off, it's seriously worth considering.

The good news is that, even with the higher price tag, the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro is one of the few smartwatches that genuinely justifies its premium positioning. It's built for people who spend as much time outdoors as they do training, combining rugged construction with a feature set that few rivals can match.

The 51mm model uses a bright AMOLED display that's easy to read in direct sunlight and is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens.

Battery life remains one of Garmin's biggest strengths, lasting for weeks rather than days in smartwatch mode, while dual-band multi-band GPS delivers highly accurate tracking whether you're running through city streets, hiking in dense forests or navigating mountain trails.

As with the standard Fenix 8, you get downloadable TopoActive maps, turn-by-turn navigation, ClimbPro, ski and golf maps, plus Garmin's comprehensive suite of training tools, including Training Readiness, Endurance Score, Hill Score and real-time stamina tracking.

Health monitoring is equally impressive, with 24/7 heart rate, Pulse Ox, ECG support, sleep coaching and detailed recovery insights helping you decide when to push and when to rest.

Built-in speaker and microphone allow you to take calls from your wrist when connected to your phone, while Garmin Pay, onboard music storage and a built-in LED flashlight make the Fenix 8 Pro just as useful during daily life as it is on big adventures.
