Feature looks set to be reinstated on imminent new models.
New MacBook Air: backlit keyboard included?
The new MacBook Air has been teased for months. But just ahead of its likely release next week, it appears Apple has decided to reinstate the backlit keyboard it dropped from the line of super-thin laptops last year.
The news comes from AppleInsider, which says it’s spoken with “people familiar with the matter”. These sources claim the 11 and 13-inch MacBook Airs will have the illuminated keyboard smarts, on top of new Intel processors and Thunderbolt connectivity.
The updated MacBook Air appears to have been held back by Apple, with the company wanting to ensure all new models come preloaded with the new Mac OS X Lion software.
