Thanks to Sony's Cyber-shot technologies, Xperia Z3 from Sony boasts the finest camera on a mobile device.
Many of us take pictures on our phones as a matter of course, but how many of us really choose a smartphone based on the quality of images produced? The new Xperia Z3 from Sony boasts the finest features available on a flagship smartphone today and its camera is no exception.
It's a 20.7 Megapixel snapper that brings to bear Sony's considerable Cyber-shot camera experience, incorporating various technologies and enhancements so that, when you take a picture, you'll know you're getting the very best pictures available from a smartphone today.
One of the best things about the camera is the new 25mm G Lens for superb, wide-angle shots – you'll be amazed at just how much you can fit onto the screen when it comes to taking a snap.
You'll also be amazed at the photos you get from Xperia Z3. That's because of the superb specifications of this camera. The 1/2.3-inch ExmorRS for mobile sensor is currently the largest on any smartphone and means you can capture an incredible amount of sharp and vivid detail, while the BIONZ for mobile processing engine ensures that nothing is lost as the image information is transferred to storage.
If you've taken a photo of an amazing sunset or a night out, you'll know that poor images often result. Xperia Z3 boasts the world's first ISO 12800 sensitivity in a smartphone, so those issues (and grainy photos) will be a thing of the past – you really can capture incredible detail.
And of course, Xperia Z3 is also a terrific device for viewing photos. The 5.2-inch ultra-bright Full HD display utilises Sony's TRILUMINOS Display for mobile technology together with Live Colour LED for rich, natural colours and intuitive contrast enhancement.
New camera apps also enhance the experience of taking photos on your Xperia Z3. In fact, you get the widest ever choice of unique camera apps with the device. All are developed exclusively for Sony and you can access them right from your camera display. Besides Xperia camera apps that come pre-installed, there's a whole range of extra apps for you to enjoy – browse through them and download the ones you want. New ones are being released all the time, too. Each has their own creative features designed to make taking pictures far more fun and flexible.
Face In is a fun new app for Xperia Z3 that enables you to combine both the front and back cameras of your Xperia device in a single frame. So you can have your own face in a family shot, or you can take a selfie at the Eiffel Tower without having to look like you're taking a selfie.
Movie Creator is a powerful app that harnesses the power of Xperia Z3 to analyse your media. You can bring together events, detect faces and locations and help you turn your memories into something you can share with your friends and family.
And naturally, you get all the camera apps that have been great about previous Xperia handsets, including Background Defocus, Live on YouTube – by Xperia and Timeshift Video.
If you're interested in taking underwater photos or video, you'll have no problem doing that – Xperia Z3 is fully IP 65/68 waterproof-rated and can be submerged for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 metres.
And talking of video, it's not only still images Xperia Z3 has a particular aptitude for – video is at the heart of what Sony is about and the company brings its renowned Handycam recording technology to bear in Xperia Z3.
Not only can you record in the standard Full HD mode, but there's also an app enabling you to make the most of the integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core processor by recording 4K video, with twice the resolution and four times the pixels of Full HD at 3,840 x 2,160 resolution. Xperia Z3 supports 4K playback on a 4K TV or projector using the latest MHL 3.0 connector.
Obviously the bane of many smartphone videos is footage that jerks vertically and doesn't pan smoothly. Thanks to Sony's SteadyShot tech, it has developed Intelligent Active Mode. It analyses dozens of frames, for smoother and more stable videos and estimates how you will move during the remainder of the video.
And, because of the superb power on offer from Xperia Z3, it's no problem to edit either photos or video directly on your phone.
You'll also always be able to take that key picture, thanks to Xperia Z3's unprecedented two-day battery life and Battery STAMINA Mode, which turns off background functions when you're not using them to help extend your smartphone's charge.
And that's why Xperia Z3 from Sony has the best smartphone camera around.
