Nearly 100,000 Kindle Fires sold in 24 hours, says marketing firm

Amazon Kindle Fire has a hot 24 hours

Amazon has taken just under 100,000 orders for the new Kindle Fire tablets on its first day of sales, according to data released by a digital marketing firm, eDataSource

It is reported to have taken 95,000 pre-orders for the first Amazon tablet, which is just under a third of first generation iPads sold in 24 hours.

The Amazon Kindle Fire will be shipping on November 15 2011 from Amazon and its retail partners, and was launched for $199.

There is no information yet on whether and when the Kindle Fire will be available in the UK, although we don't see why it shouldn't.

It will run a modified version of the Android OS and be integrated with Amazon's book store.
