Nearly 100,000 Kindle Fires sold in 24 hours, says marketing firm
It is reported to have taken 95,000 pre-orders for the first Amazon tablet, which is just under a third of first generation iPads sold in 24 hours.
The Amazon Kindle Fire will be shipping on November 15 2011 from Amazon and its retail partners, and was launched for $199.

It will run a modified version of the Android OS and be integrated with Amazon's book store.
