LG Optimus Pad coming next week?

iPad rival and Windows Phone 7 mobile being primed

Digital press conference likely to see slew of new Optimus devices.

LG is holding a digital press conference next week, where the Korean gadget guru is likely to unleash a string of new Optimus-branded kit. The invite for the even teases one such device, and there’s already chatter about just what we’ll be seeing.

An Optimus-branded Windows Phone 7 blower was spied at IFA in Berlin last week, while LG itself has been talking up the prospect of its Android-packing Optimus Pad.

Both are likely to take a bow at the event next Tuesday, as LG looks to be the first to officially unveil a Windows Phone 7 cell and give its key rival Samsung, and its Galaxy Tab, plenty to think about.

There’s even the chance that LG could unveil more Optimus Android phones, with its most recent Google-based efforts failing to set the world alight.
