HTC Salsa to be exclusive to O2 in the UK at launch

HTC and O2 buddy up in deal on Facebook phone

Not on o2 network but fancy getting your hands on the upcoming HTC Salsa? Think again...

The O2 phone network has bagged exclusive rights to the new HTC Salsa, according to online handset retailer Clove.

The Salsa is one of two so called Facebook phones due to be released by HTC in June, the other being the annoyingly titled HTC ChaCha. Both phones are deeply integrated with software from the social networking site, and have dedicated Facebook buttons to keep friends updated with your every move.

On a blog on Clove's website, it states that "the HTC Salsa will launch in the UK as an O2 exclusive and as of yet there is no indication as to when/if it will be available SIM-free.' They have reportedly confirmed this news with O2.

Amazon yesterday made the HTC handset available for pre-order in the UK on a SIM-free basis. The online retailer and Kindle producer is offering the HTC Salsa for £319.99 with a June 26th release date.
