With the LG Optimus 3D still teasing us until an expected release date of June 1st, HTC is poised to stun the world with another 3D Android smartphone option next week - a successor to the wildly popular EVO 4G, the EVO 3D.
While the flagship HTC offering may have dropped a digit, this is most definitely an evolutionary device according to reported insider sources. As its name would imply, the standout feature will be its glasses-free 3D screen boasting 4.3 inches of real estate and 960x540 resolution.
Obviously a 3D screen is useless without some 3D content to fill it, so HTC has you covered - out back there are dual 5 megapixel cameras for catching all the stereoscopic action you can point your phone at. Meanwhile, there is talk of 3D apps from Blockbuster and Youtube for even more 3D to wrap your eyes around.
Other specs don’t disappoint either with the phone being powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 1.3 megapixel camera up front for videocalling. Look for this phone to be running Gingerbread beneath HTC’s popular Sense UI with more details to follow after CTIA next week.
