With a Gran Turismo 6 release date reportedly on the cards, new reports have suggested the latest rendition of the racing sim could land as a launch title for the long rumoured Sony PS4 console.
The latest in a long line of PS4 and GT6 rumours, latest reports have claimed that Gran Turismo mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi has hinted the eagerly awaited Gran Turismo 6 release could come to next-generation consoles. When questioned on the title's release he reportedly responded: "We're always aiming for the latest technology and the latest expression," a comment that has sparked a flurry of PS4 speculation.
A longstanding powerhouse of the racing genre, a Sony developer recently leaked plans for an upcoming addition to the Gran Turismo gaming franchise with the GT6 release outed via an online CV.
Appearing on the business and career centric social network LinkedIn, Brian Dunn, an Associate Brand Manager at Sony Computer Entertainment America, listed the recently confirmed title as one of his current projects, sparking much speculation around the future title’s nearing arrival.
With the most recent instalment to the GT franchise, Gran Turismo 5, having encountered a number of years worth of delays and postponements prior to its eventual 2010 release, first word on a GT6 release has sparked the possibility of a potential E3 2012 unveiling.
Having recently confirmed work has already begun on a Gran Turismo 6 release, series mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi has remained cagey as to when the title will land or even what platforms it will support.
With Sony expected to out its PlayStation 3 follow-on console, the eagerly awaited Sony PS4, in time for a pre-Christmas 2013 release, it has been widely speculated that any GT6 release would see the ultra realistic racing sim line up as a launch title for the next-gen gamer.
