Retailer offering iPad at Apple competitive pricing
Highstreet retailer Carphone Warehouse has slashed the prices of the original-generation Apple iPad bringing the tablet in line with the Apple UK store prices.
With Apple dropping the prices of first series of iPads shortly after the unveiling of the Apple iPad 2 last week, Carphone Warehouse has followed suit with the third party retailer now offering the market leading tablet from as little as £329.
With the £329 price tag relating to the 16GB, Wi-Fi only model, consumers looking to pick up a cheap iPad ahead of the second-generation’s UK release on March 25 will be able to snap up the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G device for just £429 and the high capacity 32GB 3G capable model for a quid under the £500 mark.
The £499 32GB Wi-Fi + 3G iPad sees potential buyers get the same storage levels and connectivity options as the upcoming base model for the Motorola Xoom, but £100 cheaper. Whilst the Xoom features a more impressive spec sheet than the original iPad, one that touts a dual-core processor and dual cameras, the imminent iPad 2 arrival will see the Apple tablet once again take charge with a 1GHz A5 dual-core processor, front and rear facing cameras and a new, ultra slim, lightweight form factor.
