The iPhone 5S will hit stores on September 20th, according to reports.
Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 5S and budget iPhone 5C at its press event next week in Cupertino. Earlier this week it sent out invitations with the slogan “this should brighten everyone’s day”.
According to Geeky-Gadgets, Apple will open up pre-orders for its next generation flagship handset on September 13th with it hitting shops one week later.
There is no word on the availability of the iPhone 5C. Some commenters suggested that Apple may choose to launch the cheaper handset in China first as it seeks to expand its market share there.
Apple is understood to be holding a separate event slightly later in the week for the Chinese media.
The iPhone 5S is expected to be available in black, white and the new colour of champagne-gold. Apple is also expected to introduce a new 128GB model. It is unclear if it intends to retire the 16GB model or retain it.
