Engineered for perfection: why creatives should be excited for the Galaxy Book6 Pro release
This is shaping up to be special
The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro is a perfect encapsulation of how far we’ve come. Where half a decade ago most creatives would need a backpack full of chargers, dongles and accessories to get their work done on the go, this sort of laptop ensures that just a single device can power your entire creative workflow.
Wondering how that can be true? Read on – we’re breaking down some of the key questions you might want answered about the Galaxy Book6 Pro’s creative credentials.
Is the Galaxy Book6 Pro’s display up to scratch?
When you’re working on creative projects, whether they involve a bunch of image editing, video processing, podcast work or anything else, there’s one thing you’re guaranteed to need: a good display. The Galaxy Book6 Pro obliges with a pin-sharp Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel that has some of the inkiest blacks you’ll find in any laptop.
It’s also a full touchscreen, which means you have the option to work in whatever way best suits your plans. For some people, touchscreen interactivity is an absolute must-have, but even if you’ve never really used one, you’ll likely find it an intuitive and rewarding option for your work.
Of course, it’s not just about it being touchscreen – you can also choose between a 14-inch or 16-inch version of the laptop, which means that you get the option of extra portability or more all-important real estate.
How much battery life does the Galaxy Book6 Pro have?
The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro has all-day battery life by almost any definition. Many creatives working today will know how important it is to be able to rely on their professional devices’ battery life. There’s nothing endearing about a laptop dying midway through the working day when you’re out and about – and that’s an issue that the Galaxy Book6 Pro swerves entirely.
Thanks to enhanced efficiency in the latest generation of Intel® chips, which are nestled in the heart of the Book6 Pro, and some very clever design choices from Samsung, the battery numbers on offer are staggering. Samsung says you can get up to 30 hours of video playback on a charge, which is frankly crazy, and even outside of sterile testing environments, we’ve found that it comfortably gets through an entire day of remote work without ever needing to be plugged in.
How portable is the Galaxy Book6 Pro?
Weight is everything when it comes to a laptop’s portability – as well as its size. The Galaxy Book6 Pro threads the needle, whether you go for the 14-inch or 16-inch version; they weigh 1.24 kg and 1.59 kg, respectively. That’s the sort of lightweight design that means you can happily slip it in a bag to take to a cafe or on a work trip without feeling weighed down at all hours.
Of course, while being lightweight is nice, it helps that the Galaxy Book6 Pro also looks stunning while it does so. It’s a beautiful all-metal laptop with a gorgeous wedge-shaped design that makes it jaw-droppingly thin at its slimmest point. Frankly, it feels like a return to the days when laptops were a bit more fun to look at, rather than being blank slates of metal. Luckily, that also makes it feel super-premium in the hand, making it a slam-dunk bit of design.
Is the Galaxy Book6 Pro good for creators?
This is what it really comes down to: how does this excellent laptop perform as a productivity device for creatives and creators? Well, it’s equipped to make even heavy editing workloads look easy, and the way it crunches through AI tasks ensures that it’s futureproofed for years of development.
The new Intel® Core™Ultra Series 3 chip at its heart is super capable when it comes to on-board processing of AI requests, but even if you don’t have that much AI in your workflow, it’ll also make mincemeat of image and video processing. Being tied to a desktop is no good at all for most flexible workers, so being able to get your content ready wherever you are is a major boon.
Plus, when it comes to showing your creations to other people, the laptop’s aforementioned touch screen is ideal for presenting and showcasing your work in a way that encourages your clients and coworkers to get involved.
