XPS. Xtreme Performance System. These three letters resonate with tech enthusiasts as a symbol of uncompromising power.

It all started in 1993. Just as consumer computing was becoming standardised, Dell created the XPS division with one overriding ambition: design the best-performing desktop PCs on the market to meet the demands of tech enthusiasts and experienced gamers.

In 2004, Dell made a bold move. The brand decided to carry over the raw power of this DNA into the mobile world, launching the first ever XPS laptop. This heralded the emergence of a new vision: deliver maximum performance without compromising on mobility.

The success of such a move inevitably involved massive amounts of research and development work over two decades with the Dell XPS range emerging as the award-winning benchmark against which all others are measured.

Let’s look back over more than 20 years of hardware innovation and radical aesthetic choices through 8 iconic models that have redefined the identity of the laptop.
