Microsoft may have mistakenly revealed through a job advert posted on its corporate website that new Surface 2 tablets are already in development
Microsoft already working on Surface 2 tablets
The job listing, which were posted on Microsoft's Careers website between June and August, stated the company's Surface development team were "currently building the next generation" of "devices that fully express the Windows vision". The job adverts all began with the following declaration:
"The Surface Team focuses on lighting up Microsoft experiences with touch first computing. A fundamental part of our strategy is having desirable and powerful devices that enable the experiences people want, and elicit their excitement. Creating these devices involves a close partnership between hardware and software engineers, designers, and manufacturing. We are currently building the next generation and Surface needs you!"
According to the listings, the Surface 2 will be part of Microsoft's "new family of PCs built to be the ultimate stage for Windows". The ads also contain the suggestion that Microsoft is planning a relatively short turnaround for the line of Surface tablets as each listing refers to a ‘fast-paced product development cycles."
The first Surface tablets are scheduled to go on sale September (you can watch our video preview, below)
