I just got my first aircon, but these cooling fans are brilliant alternatives that cost way less
Dreo's gone early, and fair play for that
Here comes the sun again – the UK is bracing itself for another wave of heat, and while it might not get quite as scorching this time as it did in mid-May, anything that even approaches 30 degrees can still be a nightmare if you live in a heat-retaining property and want to sleep at all.
So, you're probably one of a few hundred thousand people currently thinking about stocking up on some cooling tech for your home, and the timing happens to be pretty great. While heatwaves are often the worst time to buy fans, it just so happens that next week is Amazon Prime Day, and some early deals are already here to make things better.
Dreo makes some of the niftiest fans and portable aircon units out there – I recently got one of its 7500 BTU portable air con units and it's been a game-changer that I'm planning to write more about soon. If you don't have £400 to spend, though, and want a fan rather than an aircon, the two deals I've spotlit below are fairly phenomenal options.
Tower fans are hard to beat for the sheer amount of air they can move at once, but this one has a brilliant extra feature in the form of its misting function. This makes it way more effective in cooling terms, and a great remote control pairs with app connectivity to make it genuinely smart, too – so this £30 saving looks like fairly excellent business.
If you're tighter on both space and budget, though, this smaller desk fan has the same tech in it, meaning you still get beautiful misting for cooling purposes and the same connectivity options. That makes it much more approachable and potentially more adaptable, too.
These two deals give you a couple of great options if you're looking to cool down a small or medium-sized room, and they happen to be really well-made and sturdy, too. That means they should stand the test of time, which is always reassuring.
These deals should last until 1 July, so you have a couple of weeks to pick them up, since Dreo isn't limiting them to just the narrower Prime Day window. That's great, but don't be surprised if they come in and out of stock thanks to that heat!
