LG 55SK8000PLB 4K UHD TV, over £480 off
A lot of the televisions in our Best TVs under £1000 list are there because they started out more expensive, then got a price cut, thereby going from attractive but perhaps overpriced, to relative bargains. That's the case with the LG 55SK8000PLB 4K UHD TV which is now down in price to £909, £485.39 off.
The set has LG's superb smart platform for all your streaming and catchup requirements (4K Netflix, 4K Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, etc). There's also Freeview Play, which cleverly merges live and catchup TV seamlessly.
Picture processing and upscaling of HD material are excellent and as it's from a more premium range, there's also Dolby Atmos – "the next step in audio immersion. Atmos moves in three-dimensional space, allowing for a more realistic recreation of audio entertainment." But you knew that already, right?
A 2018 TV from LG this boasts an IPS 4K Nano Cell Display giving wide viewing angles and "consistent pixel placement one nanometre apart, creating uniform colour volume and outstanding picture quality." The Alpha 7 Processor gives incredible vibrancy and contrast, and there's support for HLG, HDR 10, Dolby Vision and Technicolor HDR.
LG's ThinQ AI and smart platform make it easy to find the shows and movies you want, via either voice or traditional remote control. There's also support for Dolby Atmos – the TV doesn't output through its own speakers, but it can send it direct to a compatible speaker setup.View Deal
