Red Bull Mobile network to launch in the UK soon?

Drink Red Bull's energy drinks, and engage in an active lifestyle? Then Red Bull Mobile will likely be targeting you

Could the energy drink brand Red Bull be launching a mobile phone network in the UK? That's what it certainly looks like, after sources tipped us off to the existence of Red Bull Mobile, which promises "the latest handsets, competitive tariffs and a complete package of mobile communication features." A UK site is up and running, whilst an Austrian website suggests it's already launched there.

Phones from Sony Ericsson, including the G705 and C702, and Nokia's 5800, N97 and 5730, look likely to be sold with Red Bull SIM cards, if the Austrian Red Bull Mobile website is anything to go by. Two SIM cards are offered, with the SimplyAll costing 19 Euros a month, for 1,000 minutes, 1,000 texts and 100MB of data. Red Bull TV is also mentioned, along with Red Bull Mobile portal and community features - which the UK site claims will allow users to "upload and display your home movies, photos and stories and share them with others in the Red Bull Mobile community".

Red Bull Mobile users will be invited to "be part of Red Bull events, chat to sporting heroes like Sebastian Vettel or watch spectacular videos", with the Red Bull Mobile handset being "the ultimate tool for accessing news, interviews, weather, sports and downloads from the world of Red Bull and beyond".

The SimplyAll+ SIM card will cost 29 Euros a month for 2,000 minutes and 2,000 texts, along with 2,000MB of data. Subscribers to the SimplyAll+ package also receive extra Austrian TV channels - ORF 1, ORF 2, ATV, Pro7, RTL, Sat 1 & 8 and Red Bull TV.
