HTC Edge leaks as the world's first quad-core smartphone
With HTC looking to get a jump on its competitors the quad-core HTC Edge has leaked ahead of an MWC 2012 unveiling
With the dual-core smartphone market beginning to bear fruit and a flurry of handsets hitting the market Taiwanese smartphone giant HTC is reportedly working on the world's first quad-core smartphone in the form of the HTC Edge.
The new leaks, which come courtesy of PocketNow, suggest the HTC Edge will land early next year with a quad-core CPU featuring through the inclusion of a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 chip.
HTC Edge Specs
Alongside its world's first, Nvidia-manufactured smartphone processor the HTC Edge is tipped as boasting a fleet of high-end specs with a 4.7-inch HD display to touch down alongside 1GB of RAM.
On the rear an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash is set to make an appearance with Google's recently released Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS the likely choice of operating system for the flagship device that will take on the likes of the Apple iPhone 4S and expected Samsung Galaxy S 3.
HTC Edge Release Date
With an early 2012 arrival being widely tipped for the first quad-core smartphone, smart money would suggest the HTC Edge release will be held during Mobile World Congress 2012 with the smartphone themed show set to run between February 27th and March 1st of next year.
