Taking to Twitter, the mobile network said, “Awesome news - the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is coming to O2. Loving their ad too.” The latter refers to the Super Bowl spot which officially introduced the gaming cell to the masses during last Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The Xperia Play has been leaked and spied for months, with Sony Ericsson happily previewing the phone on several occasions. It comes loaded with a PlayStation Pocket app for downloading games, a Qualcomm chip for lightning fast performance and Android Gingerbread to boot.
