Apple's heavily rumoured television set, Apple iTV, has taken one step closer to reality with the eagerly awaited entrant to the TV market appearing in a consumer survey in the US via retailer Best Buy.
Announcing "Apple finally reinvents what a TV can do," the Best Buy survey has leaked a flurry of the upcoming television set's features as well as offering the first indication of the speculative Apple iTV price.
Apple iTV Features
Said to come sporting a 42-inch 1080p Full HD display, the upcoming Apple hardware, which is listed under the moniker of 'Apple HDTV' is marked by Best Buy as running the current iPhone and iPad operating system iOS as well as offering users full access to the iTunes App Store and a host of content streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube and Flickr.
Supporting the recently injunction hit iCloud service, further Apple iTV specs are said to include the ability to control the system via iPhone and iPad devices as well as the odd inclusion of an inbuilt Apple iSight camera and access to VoIP service, Skype.
Whilst the incorporation of an integrated front-facing camera is not that surprising, Apple's current push would likely see its FaceTime brand and service replace any iSight and Skype collaboration.
Apple iTV Price and Release Date
Whilst the consumer survey offers no indication as to when eager consumers will be able to snap up the forthcoming Apple iTV service, it has offered the first insight into a price for the revolutionary television sets.
Landing with a price comparable to some of Apple's MacBook and iMac offerings, the Apple iTV price has been leaked as $1,499 (£947).
