A Tronic Large Bladeless Fan for £59.99? Yes please, Lidl!

Seriously, when will it end? Supposedly the worst of the heat was over – but my home office is currently 34C according to my Meaco fan's thermometer. I'm typing this with a damp flannel on my head – what a time to be alive, eh?

Anyway, I digress. Yesterday I found that Lidl was selling a cheap air conditioner – and there was stock that I could pick up in my local store. The story I wrote about it went stratospheric – but then, unsurprisingly perhaps, Lidl sold out. Dang.

Well, today I'm back with some good backup news. Lidl has a large fan, creatively called the Tronic Large Bladeless fan and, once again, according to Lidl's own site and product locator, that's also available to collect.

It's priced at £59.99 – so check your local store's stock. But first check the official site. As, like yesterday, I'm sure many avid shoppers will be snapping up the final stock with glee.

As I said yesterday: you've gotta love 'The Middle of Lidl'. The odds 'n' ends aisle of total chaos that, every now and then, can deliver unexpected goods. This fan, at this price, is one such bonus.

This Tronic, which has an air of Dyson about its design, is designed to circulate air without any spinning blades – so no fingers can get in any trouble. Ideal for kids and pets, then.

It features 20 different speeds, can oscillate automatically (through four pre-set angles), offers an LED display so you can visually see the settings, and the Sleep setting is there to keep things quieter when you try (and possibly fail, based on conditions) to get some shut-eye.

The design is pretty fetching, too, with a matte white finish and silver trim. It stands almost a metre tall and if viewed as a cylinder is almost 30cm wide/deep – like an old school ruler. Not too massive, but not small, so you know it'll kick out some airflow.

Much as I did pop to Lidl yesterday, however, I elected to buy some Crunchie Blast ice creams for £4.25 rather than dropping £149 on an aircon unit. I immediately lived to regret that choice, so don't miss your chance to own this fan. And fingers crossed for a more sensible temperature tomorrow.
