Chinese tech giant teams up with French jewellery brand Les Néréides to turn earbuds into fashion accessories
Huawei's latest FreeClip earbuds get a luxury makeover, pairing adaptive open-ear audio with jewellery-inspired styling
Huawei has unveiled a premium new version of its FreeClip 2 open-ear earbuds.
The Chinese tech giant teamed up with French jewellery brand Les Néréides in a bid to make wearable audio as much a fashion statement as a tech accessory.
The FreeClip 2 S Signature Edition retains the open-ear earbuds design of the standard model while adding metallic finishes, exclusive clip-on accessories and a more luxurious aesthetic.
Huawei says the Signature Edition is designed around a "luminous aesthetics" philosophy, introducing new Deepsea Blue and Space Silver finishes alongside a range of decorative accessories created by Les Néréides.
The charging case has also been redesigned using more than 100 manufacturing steps, with Huawei claiming the internal storage space has increased by 20% while keeping the case compact enough for everyday use.
Each earbud weighs just 5.1g, matching the lightweight comfort that helped make the original FreeClip stand out in the increasingly crowded open-ear category.
More than just a pretty face
The FreeClip 2 S Signature Edition uses a new third-generation audio chip and an AI-powered adaptive volume system that automatically adjusts playback based on your surroundings.

Adaptive voice enhancement aims to improve clarity for calls, podcasts and audiobooks, while dual-diaphragm drivers promise richer vocals and more impactful bass.
Like the standard FreeClip 2, the earbuds work with both Android and iOS devices and feature Huawei's interchangeable left and right design, meaning either earbud can be worn in either ear.
They're also IP57-rated for dust and water, while battery life is up to 9 hours per charge or 38 hours with the charging case.
The FreeClip 2 S Signature Edition is available from today in the UK from Huawei with an RRP of £199.99 (~$267 / €234 / AU$385), although Huawei is offering an introductory price of £169.99 (~$227 / €199 / AU$327) until 17 August.
A limited-edition bundle including a pair of Les Néréides accessories is also available for £199.99 during the launch promotion.
