QUICK SUMMARY

Aqara has launched its new Thermostat Hub W200 – a smart thermostat that combines climate control, presence detection and Matter hub capabilities in a single wall-mounted device.

Currently available in the US for $159.99 via Aqara's online store and Amazon, a wider release is expected.

The Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 is now available to buy after first being unveiled at CES, offering smart climate control, presence detection and Matter hub capabilities into one impressive unit. It’s designed as a wall-mounted thermostat with a 4-inch colour touchscreen and streamlined appearance.

As mentioned, the W200 acts as a Matter-enabled hub and supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread and Zigbee, allowing it to connect Aqara devices alongside third-party Matter products. When paired with compatible Aqara video doorbells and smart locks, it can even display doorbell snapshots and let you unlock your door directly from the screen.

It also includes an mmWave sensor – similar to what we’ve seen in Aqara’s Presence Multi-Sensor FP300 – which means it can detect whether someone is actually in a room. This opens up more intelligent automations, like adjusting the temperature only when a space is in use.

The W200 is compatible with most HVAC systems, although some setups will require a C-wire adaptor, which is sold separately for $29.99.
