Samsung unveils N110 and N120 netbooks

Nine hours' battery life for new Sammy models

Still on the hunt for a new netbook? Well, Samsung has two new models to tempt you, the N110 and the N120.

With the N120, it's all about the battery, offering up to 9.3 hours of use between charges, enough for a day's work and some browsing on the commute home too - just as long as you don't spend all day playing on YouTube. That long life is down to the power efficient LED screen on-board, along with 'optimised' processing power and a long-life 6 cell battery. Let's hope other laptop makers are taking note.

Aside from that, this is pretty much netbook by numbers, albeit with an occasional twist on the theme. That means a 10.1-inch widescreen display, an Intel Atom processor, 1.3-megapixel camera, card reader, 3x USB and Windows XP as you might expect, along with optional Bluetooth 2.0, an anti-bacterial ergonomic keyboard and a rugged outer 'Duracase' in a variety of colours which you might not. Look out for it in April, pricing still to be confirmed.

If that's a little too compact for you, how about the N120? It's still a 10.1-inch netbook, but this time, Samsung has used either magic or clever use of space to fit a full-size 12-inch notebook style keyboard into that small package, not to mention a larger trackpad too. If you're usually a bit too 'ham fisted' to use a netbook, it could be the one for you.

Aside from the added working space, the N120 also throws in an integrated SRS 2.1 channel audio system for a step up in sound and a near-identical set of features to the N110. Yes, that Duracase is still there protecting your investment and there's also the enhanced battery life, up to 10.5 hours this time, says Samsung.

Like the N110, the N120 will also hit retail for an as-yet unconfirmed price in April.
