Nokia has announced the release date for its Lumia 1520 smartphone. You'll be able to buy the 6-incher from December 6th, which is a week on Friday.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 will go on sale on December 6th, Nokia has announced. Last week, Carphone Warehouse announced the price of the 6-inch mobile on contract, but Vodafone was the only network it listed.
It's still the only network listed on the Carphone Warehouse site. Though Nokia insists the massive mobile will also be available on O2.
Both networks will offer the handset free on contracts starting at £38 a month. If you want it SIM-free, you'll have to shell out £599.95.
Aside from Carphone Warehouse, Vodafone and O2, Nokia says the 1520 will be sold at Phones 4u and independent retailers.
Last week, the handset went on sale in France. It was announced at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi on October 22nd.
It's the biggest mobile Nokia has ever made. The 6-inch screen has a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels, which is among the sharpest around. Because the screen is so big, it can fit a third column of Live Tiles, meaning you'll have to do less scrolling to get to the app you want.
It also features one of the highest resolution cameras on a mobile, packing in 20 megapixels. That's not quite as high as the Lumia 1020's 41 megapixels, but it's still very impressive indeed.
Under the bonnet is a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
