Motorola Droid and Eris to launch November 6th?

Motorola's thrown all caution to the wind and is relentlessly pursuing Android

We've been hearing a lot about Motorola's upcoming Android handsets, with the Droid already receiving the official website treatment at www.droiddoes.com, courtesy of official network Verizon. But could the Droid be joined by another device called Eris, announced on the same date, November 6th?

Running on Android 2.0 (aka, Eclair), the Droid is a compact slider featuring a 5.0-megapixel camera (with flash and 4x digital zoom), GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity and the usual host of Google Android functions.

The Eris meanwhile is a scaled-down Android phone, which will undoubtedly be affordable and lean on spec. It won't launch with Android 2.0 reportedly, with just Android 1.5 running on a 528MHz processor - the same as the DEXT and other Android handsets use.

Not too long to wait for the Droid and Eris, if the rumoured November 6th launch date is anything to go by. Well done, Motorola - you've succeeded in piquing our interest in your products again.
