Citing “reliable sources at a major European iPhone carrier,” Apple blog 9to5Mac has reported that mobile network providers are running unusually low on iPhone 3GS stocks with fewer handsets coming through to replenish the low levels.
With the iPhone 5 release date expected in September, latest iPhone 5 rumours have suggested Apple will sell the mooted 1GHz dual-core processor touting handset alongside the current iPhone 4 with the iPhone 3GS being killed off after two years on the market.
Adding further fuel to the fire 9to5Mac continues that “a tipster at an Orange UK store in London has let us know that the carrier has told employees that the iPhone 3GS is no longer available.”
What features would you like to see land in the iPhone 5? Is there any need for the 3GS to remain on the market with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 available? Let us know via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
