Apple iPod Nano turns wristwatch with Griffin Slap

Apple branded watch made possible by 80s throwback

Griffin turns new Apple iPod Nano into stylish Slap watch

Apple accessories master Griffin has announced its latest add-on offering for your iProduct in the Griffin Slap watch case for the recently released sixth generation Apple iPod Nano.

When the latest Nano incarnation was unveiled by Steve Jobs back in September, one of the first alternative uses spotted for the 1.3-inch multitouch touting PMP was as a nifty Apple branded wristwatch thanks to its square form and large screen come clock face.

Giving a distinct nod to the wrap-around Slap bracelets of the 80s, the Griffin Slap for iPod Nano will allow you to show off your Apple device whilst attached to a spring-steel band covered in a healthy dollop of coloured soft silicone to keep it protected against knocks and bangs.

Covering the Nano’s dock connector and volume controls under malleable silicone, the headphone port is left open on the Slap allowing for users to use their iPods as nature, and Apple, intended. The Slap, which can be seen in the video below, supports both 8GB and 16GB sixth generation iPod Nanos.

Set to cost £19.99 each, the Griffin Slap will be available in black and pink from Apple stores nationwide next month with the full range of blue, red, purple, orange, green and yellow models to be available via the Griffin website.
