Quick Summary
A report on Macrumors has spotted the last PRODUCT(RED) device is now officially sold out.
The red silicone case for the iPhone 14 is no longer available, marking the end of the PRODUCT(RED) era.
Every year new products arrive, we get treated to a new selection of colour options. That applies to most devices, from smartphones to smart rings and while there are some that simply offer black, white, and a hero colour, others have a selection to choose from.
Apple and Samsung are especially good at offering a range of colour options, with the latest iPhone 17 available in five, while Samsung’s Galaxy S26 comes in six if you consider the Samsung exclusive ones. But there is one colour that we haven’t seen on iPhone for a while – since the iPhone 14 in fact.
What is PRODUCT(RED) and will it come back?
That colour is PRODUCT(RED). In case it’s not obvious, it’s a bright red colour and it has been a colour option for a number of Apple products since 2006 when the company partnered with the (RED) brand, which was co-founded by U2 singer Bono. The partnership was created to raise money for The Global Fund, which aims to help tackle diseases like HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Africa.
Article continues belowAs reported by Macrumors however, the last PRODUCT(RED) device to be offered by Apple – the silicone case for the iPhone 14 – is no longer available anymore having sold out last month. With no new PRODUCT(RED) devices having launched recently, it seems this marks the end of an era.
Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean Apple has stopped supporting The Global Fund – the Macrumors report says the annual Apple Pay donation program raised $3 million in 2025 but if you’re looking for a bright red iPhone or Apple Watch, you’ll be out of luck now.
Still, it might not be forever. Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro has been rumoured to be coming in a red colour option but it is thought it will be more of a burgundy rather than a bright red like the PRODUCT(RED) devices offered. I had an iPhone 7 in PRODUCT(RED) and I have to say, I am a little sad it’s the end of this era. Still, you never know what the future holds.
