Xiaomi has unveiled a new air fryer featuring 11 cooking functions, including steaming and sous vide mode. The appliance features an integrated 1.5-litre water tank, positioned on the top of the unit, making it easy to access and refill.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen an air fryer introduce a steaming function, with the Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Air Fryer and Steamer offering something similar. However, the addition of a dedicated sous vide setting is far more unusual, and could hint at a new direction for the best air fryers in general.

It’s expected to retail at CNY 749 (around $109) once officially released, although it’s not yet clear whether the model will launch in other global markets.
