Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Gear 2 will launch in April
Whilst iPhone 6 rumours are thin on the ground Samsung already looks set to launch the new Galaxy S5 and a new Galaxy Gear 2 smart watch
Speaking to the publication Samsung Mobile executive vice president Lee Young Hee confirmed that the S5 was on course to be released around the same time as the Galaxy S4 was launched last year.
She then went on to confirm that the S5 would probably feature a bold design departure from the S4 saying, "for the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, it’s about the display and the feel of the cover."
When asked why, she revealed there was a feeling within the company that consumer reception to the S4 was muted because it didn't really feel like much of an upgrade over the S3.
TouchWiz update will launch with Galaxy S5?
Elsewhere screenshots of what is reportedly the new-look TouchWiz UI for Android have been leaked via @evleaks. The new-look overlay is a stark departure from Samsung's current design language.
Whilst there's no proof that these screens are genuine the design does seem to fit in more with the new Magazine UX that was unveiled on the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 at CES 2014.
