HTC is to unveil two Facebook-branded smartphones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, unconfirmed reports have claimed.
The Taiwanese-based smartphone manufacturer is reported by City AM to have penned an official partnership with Mark Zuckerberg’s globally dominant social networking site with the end result to be a pair of devices prepped for unveiling at MWC.
Touted as “high-end smartphones [that] will be the first to bear the Facebook branding and colours”, the devices are believed to sport a modified rendition of Google’s Android mobile operating system and will push live Facebook content to prominence on the handset’s UI. Extended address-book tie-ins and improved contact integration is also expected to be incorporated.
With UK launch dates, pricing and carriers overlooked by the leaked information, City AM’s report claims the Facebook phones will adopt a form factor similar to that of the Google Nexus handsets.
